TTS/ Speedometer Question
« on: June 04, 2014, 06:01:06 PM »

My analog speedometer reads 3 MPH slower than my GPS.  How do I adjust my TTS so the analog on my dash reads the correct MPG.  Sprocket is currently set at 2206.

Might want to look at this thread/post - Re: TTS speedometer calibrations « Reply #3. It's a couple years old and if it's not up to date hopefully Steve (or others will chime in).

Very unusual for speedo to read less than GPS, unless it's been adjusted by someone.  Federal law says it's illegal for manufacturer to produce a speedo that reads slower than actual speed.

My '03 and '10 CVOs both had speedos that were 2 to 3 mph slower than the GPS reading.

Speedometers are effected by tires, air pressure and load on the bike. So when someone says it reads fast or slow I always wonder at what point in the life of the tire are they checking and if the tire is the OE one or not and what the air pressure and load is. That just covers things that can cause them to misread. The speedo on a 2001 - 2004 are not adjustable in the ECM but the 2005 and later are. To adjust it use the calculator include in Mastertune to figure out the correct setting then enter that number when programming the calibration into the bike when asked if you want to change the speedometer setting. This is also covered in the supplied  Tuning guide under Speedometer calibration.
