It is especially fishy as a first post.

Even so, I read many posts from folks who English is their first language who do not write as well.

Most Germans, especially our age, took at least five years of English. So I suspect he is a little rusty, but can most likely can speak better than write our language.

MIB92, I suggest you introduce yourself on the new member introduction board. Show us pictures of your bike and share a bit about yourself.

There are other German members on this site. Perhaps they have some helpful ideas for you.

Just so everyone knows this story ends well. Ralph is a stand-up guy. We communicated via IM and e-mail and he was more than happy to pay for the parts up front. We completed a transaction with the help of PayPal, I got the parts at my local dealer. He will save some money and I will even say he is a generous tipper! We are now Facebook friends (https://www.facebook.com/ralph.rit?fref=ts) and I look forward to meeting him someday, perhaps even a ride on his Breakout in Germany.

It is truly sad that the scammers and cheats make it tough for folks to trust others. My credit card info was just hijacked this weekend and I had to go through the regular gymnastics to get that handled (no, it was not related to Ralph or this transaction).

Just wanted you all to know that, if you are careful and willing to work through language barriers, this site remains one of the best out there to meet great folks!

Enjoy the parts Ralph! Mod on!

Glad for the happy ending and that Ralph was who he stated.  As I posted previously, it was worded and sounded like a scam that's out there regularly.  It is sad we can't do what we used to do all the time as humans (give rides to hitch-hikers, trust your fellow human being with use of your phone/name/address....actually just trust in general....).  Sounds like a good win all around with this issue.

And you are right on the ball for this site being the best out there....ain't one better IMO.... :2vrolijk_21:
