I don't completely get why you would spend $30+(maybe ++) on a upgraded version of a MC with a larger motor and then operate it "lightly" because of fuel economy to save under $5 on a 300 mile day (300 X 35MPG = 8.5 gallons, 300 X 40MPG = 7.5 gallons. $4 a gallon...).
I really am not trying to be argumentative and understand that "money doesn't grow on trees" as my father told me every day of my life growing up but if economy is important to you, why would you spend a Cr--load of additional money in the first place for a CVO??
I wouldn't be concerned at all. Just merely pointing out my experience of when I got the best mileage (by accident), which was riding on good back roads at relatively constant speeds of 55-65mph. I would actually get close to 50mpg on my 103 under those conditions. My normal mileage was 38-42, as I don't putt-putt around.
On my '11 SERGU with the 110, Fullsac pipes, and TTS map, the best I ever saw was 44-46. Normal was, again, 38-42. Except when I was riding in Maggie Valley with Brian and Pete, then it dropped to the low 30's...I can't imagine why
