Cylinder base o-rings something other then HD parts
« on: June 26, 2014, 12:16:02 PM »

Are there any o-ring manufacturers supplying base 'rings that are better then HD stuff?

I had no leaks up till the engine was torn down for the bent valve (10K).
I had no leaks with that for the next 45K.

I did notice that when the engine was done at 10K that the shop used a thin layer of silicone around the base.

Since redoing my engine last year the rear cylinder has started to leak.

So, anything better then stock parts? Not taking it apart until the winter though.
For now I'll just wipe it down everyday and listen to my Victory riding buddy point it out  ::)

cometic or HD,ive never had a problem with base leaks on TC`s.did it leak after they used the silicone? as long as everything is clean when assembled, theres no need for any sealer and that could actually cause a leak

Seen a few of the 110" weep from the cylinder bases, from the Moco.

Good question
When I sell a 110 top end kit I actually purchase and include the special viton Harley quad rings part number 11907. Cometic and Cyco are not aware of this quad ring and supply the same oring the 88-103 motors use.

Yes the 11907 is a HD part only . If they are using the wrong kit it will weep.

Is there a part number for the 103's?

Is this ring similar to the ring on trans?
