my 06 SEUC pinged bad, even with SERT. come to find out the dealer that sold me the bike did not no how to tune with SERT. took it to another dealer and they also could not tune with SERT. finally took the bike to a performace shop. he tuned it in 3 hrs. pinging is gone even in  112 degree heat (southern AZ)!!!!!! He also built a custom map for the bike.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] ;) ;)

I am new to this site but have owned an '05 SE for over a year now.  During that time I have noticed two things... 1.) Synthetic oil allows for significantly more top end noise than petrol based oil.  So if you are new to synthetics you will find it very noticable.  And 2.) Royal Purple synthetic oil runs SUBSTANTIALLY cooler than HD synthetic and reduces ping dramatically.  I highly recommend using RP over the Harley brand.

I never tried Amsoil, but I did try Mobil 1.  Mobil 1 seemed okay but did little to drop the temp.  That is where Royal Purple is head and shoulders better.  We got stuck in traffic on Brick Yard weekend and everyone else was shutting down due to over heating.  Mine got hotter than usual but never shut down.  Made me a RP believer that night.

A bit tough to find...but worth it.  

I went to my local O'reilly Auto Parts guy and he agreed to start stocking it.
