Need Help With Auto Lid Lock
« on: July 26, 2014, 02:02:36 PM »

Hello all. I have a 2012 CVO with the automatic locking latches on the saddle bag lids as many of you do as well.  As you are likely aware when you press the button on the key fob the lock/catch on the bag slides back and forth in pendulum motion.  That catch has a small dowel shaped metal rod that protrudes downward into the catch.

For some reason recently it seems like the dowel slid down and I can no longer close the chrome latch tight because the dowel wont slide into the catch and allow it to close.  The point is something moved?  Is that dowel designed to slide up or down?  There is no set screw holding it that I can tell.  Any help will be appreciated.

No the dowel is fixed. Probably staked into position through that hole where you'd like a set screw to be. On mine it looks like a hair over 1/16th" of the dowel poking out the top side of the barrel mechanism. If you longer have that then I'd say it shifted.
