FRONT FOOTPEGS and LEAN ANGLES.
« on: September 01, 2014, 09:01:59 AM »

Hi evryone!

Noticing that i often touch the ground with my footpegs when i turn, i had an idea.

Why not put a pair of rear footpegs instead of those front ones that are factory installed?

They seems to fit perfectly. The only difference that i see is that front footpegs have the "ARR" that goes down a little bit more.

Why this difference?

Do U think i'll have problems by doing this mod?

Thank U evrybody.

I just got used to lifting my foot and letting the pegs fold up, only to discover that then the primary cover drags on the ground when turning left, causing the cover to be bent out of shape and leaking primary fluid all over the swingarm, requiring $450+ to stop leaking! :(

Now I just pump up the Shotgun shock all the way and no more peg grind/aforementioned expenses.

I've just accepted the fact that the foot pegs on the BO are normal wear/consumables at this point. My left and right pegs are worn down to the screws after only 5K miles. I can actually sling my Ultra around turns tighter than I can on the BO.

That said, it is fun hopping on to a 270 degree cloverleaf and dragging it all the way through the turn  ;)

Was cleaning this weekend and found I have actually been dragging the primary and pipes also. I will have to be more careful. I knew I was hitting pegs but was surprised to see the gouges in the primary.

My heel is lower than the pegs, so my first warning is usually my heel hitting the road surface.

Yes , my 2013 CVO Breakout is godawful on right handers , either traffic lights or roundabouts.

I have ground the heels away of my favourite Lucchese Alligator boots on my right side

Have not touched the primary down as yet (and hopefully won't !)

Swapping the front/rear pegs works for some folks , but it's a "band -aid" solution

Many exhaust systems will not allow the swapover due to subsequent clearance to the pipe problems

Just a " design feature" of this bike I'm afraid !

I also have a 2008 CVO Springer with the 200 rear and there's no trouble hustling that bike around !
