LED conversion Kuryakyn 3" driving lights
« on: September 04, 2014, 05:30:40 PM »

I have the Kury fork-mount driving lights which use an H3 35w bulb. I have recently switched my other lamps to the 2014 OEM LED head and spots.
The little Kury lights seem especially yellow and dim now(!)
Kury sells a kit (5035)http://www.kuryakyn.com/products/4293/3-led-upgrade-lamps to upgrade. Has anyone tried these?
Can you tell me if their color matches the HD daymakers?

I have the Kuryakyn Headlight and passing lights which are very close to the new HD standard lights in color when viewed at a distance. I'm can't say about the small accessory light you mention as it does not have the same lamp design. Are you mounting these down on the forks as as additional lighting to the main lights?

Yes, they mount to the fender mounts on the fork lowers. I don't have a pic of them turned on but suffice it to say that they used to seem bright, but the new LED Daymaker and matching passing lamps completely redefine *bright*. The little incandescents look horribly putrid yellow in comparison.
