Front bearing replacement
« on: October 07, 2014, 07:27:31 PM »

I'm stumped - Replacing the front bearings on my 08 Road Glide and the spacer between the bearings is touching each bearing.  There is no space for the collet on the removal tool to  "catch" the bearing to pull it out.  The spacer is the same id as the bearing.  I can usually figure these things out, but I'm scratching my head on this one.  Manual says to do it just like I'm trying, but there is just no room for the tool to catch the back of the bearing.  Any thoughts???  Thx

Bill-

Get on youtube and type in "Harley wheel bearing" and the first one that should come up is a fellow changing the front wheel bearings on the tailgate of his p/u truck.

Good luck!

I looked at that one.  Same thing I'm trying, but the collet just won't catch the back of the bearing. I'll get a different puller and try again tomorrow.  Thanks

Are you using a high quality remover such as Kent Moore (HD tools), Jims tools or George's Garage?
