Need my bike to be louder
« on: July 18, 2013, 10:13:10 AM »

I have 2013 CVO SG with Full Sac Sport head pipe with 2 inch cores. I like for it to be louder. My question is can I keep my Sport Header pipe, Change my mufflers to Vance and Hynes Monster Rounds without changing the MAP? I am currently running with Steve's Map.

FYI, you can always get the 2.25 baffles and pull the packing from the cans, I think yo will get the LOUD that you are looking for for probably $20 net if you sell the 2.0 baffles?  I don't think you will need to change the map either but if you do, Fullsac probably has a canned map for you.  If not, I have one saved on my PC for that set up

Thanks, In your opinion is there much difference in loudness from the 2.0 to the 2.25SD?

It's definitely a bit louder and a lot throatier.  Had the 2" initially but swapped them out for the 2 1/4", performance screen, and 1/2 the packing.  Better throttle response as well.

I changed the cans from the OEM with the 2.0 baffles to the Rhinehart's 4in and Steve kindly provided a map that was for the 2.25 baffles, made a difference though noticed that got some of the dreaded heat back from the OEM setup.

2.25" SD cores no wrap.

I run them (as well as several others here locally) with the D x pipe and they are fine. Louder than the regular 2 1/4" but not obnoxious.

I did a 96" and a 103" bike with the D pipe and 2 1/4" SD cores and they both are slightly louder than my 110".

I use the SD cores because if they are to loud I can wrap them. It allows for a "tuneable" sound to suit the customers preference.

This past weekend one of the guys pulled the cores and ran open pipes behind a D pipe.... that was loud!!!!

You could always install a set of 1 3/4 drag pipes and you will be LOUD although no one will ride with you. :huepfenlol2:

You would expect this if the bike was not retuned for the change.

If you want loud, I'll sell my current exhaust I have on my RG right now. It's a Freedom Performance Union 2 into 1  in black. The first generation pipes- no steps in the pipes. Louder than the Thunderheader on my Shovel. I'm getting ready to pull them off in the next few days. Maybe it's because I'm getting old, but I can't take the noise like I used to. I got great numbers on the dyno though, 106hp for a 97" build.
