Audio upgrade on 2013 Road King
« on: September 19, 2015, 08:49:09 PM »

I am looking to upgrade the stock stereo on my Road King. The speakers are just "ok", would like some with a little more clarity and possibly upgrade to a 300 watt amp. Rigging up satellite radio in the saddle bag even crossed my mind.

Any of you 2013 RK owners do anything unique to your sound?

Thanks!

here's a guy on the roadglide forum who's got one for $75.  unless you just really want to upgrade your audio....

I sure would love some ideas on how to improve our sound system. The stock system on the 2013 RK is only what I would call OK. Anyone have any suggestions?

Why not remove the stock amps and replace it with a Rockford-Fosgate PBR-300x4? The PBR series amps will take up a little more room that the stock amp, but not too much more.

Replace the stock speakers with Hybrid Audio Technology (HAT) Imagine series:
6.5" in he lower fairings
5x7" in the bag lids.

Should be good to go ...
