When going .030" and forged pistons, you won't be firing up a cold bike and instantly taking off with your pals hammer down. I don't do that with cast pistons but I see it a lot. I'd shoot for .035" and warm it up good.

Everything I own has to get some heat in it before it's operated!
Ridgerunr only 0.035" that not to bad. Some of my race 2 strokes need 0.050"

.035" is OK for a street bike. My last 3 builds were .030", but I warmed it and went easy until my oil temps came up.
