Zumo 590 LM
« on: April 02, 2014, 09:28:35 PM »

Check it out here - zūmo® 590LM

Not going to copy/paste all the specs here but a few interesting things I see...

Easily Monitor Tire Pressure
zūmo 590LM is compatible with our integrated Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor accessory³ (sold separately). Add a TPMS sensor for each tire and easily monitor the pressure using your zūmo display.

Ride Smarter with Your Smartphone
What’s happening on the road ahead? zūmo 590LM can connect you to live weather radar and traffic information via the Smartphone Link4 app (subscription required).

Find Your Perfect Route
Looking for a twisty ride? zūmo 590LM features Curvy Roads routing that navigates to winding rides. Round trip routing can plan your ride, according to time, distance or location. Just type in your requirements and let zūmo take care of the rest.

Service History Log
Tire mileage, tire changes, tire pressure, chain cleanings, oil changes, new spark plugs: let zūmo 590LM keep track of it all. Use the included Service History Log to record date, mileage and performed maintenance.

Would it fit (and power) with the 665 mount? I understand the NIM would not work but since I changed my head unit I have the front speakers connected thru a switch in the glove box to the current 665. I don't usually use the voice turn by turn anyway but this way if needed i flip the switch and the front speakers will play them while the rear will play whatever the head unit is on. I like this unit and would probably get it if it would fit in the 665 cradle

The iPod / Pandora control sounded very interesting. Great solution for non-head unit bikes!

I don't think so...

zūmo® Motorcycle Mount for 590LM Part Number: 010-12110-00

Mount With Integrated Power Cable for 665LM Part Number: 010-11270-03

This information came from the Garmin GPS for Motorcycles viewing the two different models and accesories associated with them.

These gadgets look nice.  The bells and whistles could be handy too.  But with the spread of smartphones and their ever enhancing capabilities and the number of pretty good GPS units that are so cheap as to be sacrificial should we have a problem with them it's hard to justify this much money for a GPS unit anymore.

I jump on twolanes wagon on this. I have a 1450LMT that works great. Has a slightly larger touch screen, don't play music or take phone calls and is not waterproof. Best I have ever owned in that it has never taken me on a 'wild goose chase'. Oh, picked it up on Fleabay, brand new in box with Lifetime Maps for $81.00. Its not a mini-computer.......its a fricking GPS.

Just installed a Zumo 590LM on 2014 CVO Limited.  Audio will not work, apparently Harley Davidson version of Zumo send out a sound to activate NIM module (or software in 2014 radio) that allows the radio to interupt radio and play the directional audio from the GPS.

Trying to research a fix, something other than hard wiring another speaker, or having to use it with a separate blue tooth headset.

Anyone have any luck making this work?

Have the 590lm working, you need the aux input kit
http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/35mm-auxiliary-input-kit
Then have the dealer flash the radio to enable the input. You can also have the dealer rename the Aux input , mine was renamed to ZM590LM.

You can hear the prompts and Mp3 music from the 590 on the AUX channel. The 590 does not support the NIM.
