Brakes
« on: January 26, 2015, 09:50:16 PM »

Is there a better set of brake pads to go on the CVO stock rotors. I'm getting brake shutter and a little fade on the fronts. I switched to lyndall gold + on the rear and really have not felt an improvement. I just got a set for the front of golds but they came with black backing plates. :nixweiss: My rotors look like they did get a little hot. Not sure if I'm asking too much out of my brakes, after all its a bagger not a sport bike. I'll send some pictures of my rotors tomorrow. Just curious if there is anyone out there that's rides there bike a little more aggressively and have some experience with brakes.

From your description, "brake shutter" and  your "rotors look like they did get a little hot,"  It sounds like you warped the rotors.  If so, new pads are not going to help.  Sorry but hope this helps.

The shutter only happens under hard braking.

That just means they're not too badly warped, yet.  Never heard of pads causing that.  Shouldn't this be a warranty issue?

Lyndall gold plus, I'm not sure what's going on with them. My new pads came in with black backing plates instead of the gold color. Depending on what rotors you are running, I think it would be hard to tell the difference between the gold and the Z-plus pads
