Stalled Twice this last week
« on: February 27, 2015, 04:51:58 PM »

Bike has stalled out on me twice this last week. The first time I was rolling up to a stop sign at an idle. Bike started right bike up and ride on.
This morning it did the same thing again but tge time a bit scarier. I was on the Freeway in the HOV lane. Traffic was stop and go and I was not much above idle. Started right back up and came to work.
It was like someone turned off the ignition switch but all the electronics stayed on.
I do not have any check engine light and no codes.
Bike is completely stock

with no codes it is just a guess. When my 2010 limited did this it was the Throttle body. It set a 1510 code though.

Mine did this 3x first two months I had it, dealer never found anything. Put Fulsac system on with TTS tune and hasn't happened since though that's only been a couple of months now ~2k miles since.

Mine did it twice on the way home from the dealer when stopping at a light. Went on a short ride the same day before bringing it inside for the winter and may have did it one more time. It was cold out 30 degrees.

Stalling when it's 30°F outside isn't tolerated in the automotive market (recall anyone?), so it's not a valid excuse for Harley.  I'd suggest contacting H-D and the dealership about this safety defect.

I rolled into the Dealer after work yesterday. Spoke to the Service Managet and the shop Foreman. There were zero codes showing. After explaining the symptoms the Foreman decided to have a look at the throttle body, he was thinking maybe a blockage of air as engine goes into idle possibly a build up of oil. He just got back from training in Milwaukee and has not heard of similar issues. He did find some oil build up but not significant. He put it in the digitech and reset the TSM to Zero. Without having codes it is a very difficult diagnosis. So we will see.

If no codes, you could have a bad on / off switch.  My recent experience:  Re: 2015 RGU: I'm Blue... So Blue...

Yes this happened to me on 2 occassions whilst I was away at the National HOG Rally a couple of weeks back. Will be putting a Fuelmoto System and Thundermax on over the next couple of weeks so will see what happens after that.
