I have a 2012 CVO Ultra.
I unplugged my ipod to download new music.
Plugged it back in and it played for a couple of seconds and went back to FM.
When i change it back to ipod it say ipod not present plays for a few seconds and switches back to Fm.
It worked fine before i unplugged it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Mine happened today also kinda weird.

Every time I have had that happen, I have to turn everything off and unplug the iPod, then plug the iPod back in and start up and pray that it works.

On my '12 FLHXSE3 the ipod will not play after a stop (like for gas) if I accidentally shut off the bike while the ipod is selected.

I de-select the ipod, then shut of the stereo, then shut down the bike, and start up in reverse order, works fine.

To get it to come back on, I usually have to shut it all down for a longer period, like a meal break.  Never tried unplugging the ipod.

I typically get this error once every year.  Can't ever predict when it's going to happen.  I fix it by following the reset instructions for IPOD Nano 6th Generation.  You can find Youtube videos on line how this it done.

  :apple:The reset thing works for me. Just never know when its going to crap out. When it works its great when not its a PITA. rant. Have to reset it 3-4 times a year

I really doubt that there are any updates for the first generation HK
 radio. .

put new ipod cable in and now it all works good
mine had a crack in ipod side

The wires in the cable where it connects are a very poor desidn. If you twist it when hooking up the ipod you can short it out. Chek it out.

Happens often to me on 2012 FLTRXSE totally random.  Mostly if I don't have plugged in prior to starting.  Then the odd time it will connect but just starts playing from my library and I can't select music. Or it will scroll through but okay the same 4-5 songs out of my 1200 song library. Worst system ever.... But it sounds the best versus the audio port plug in. So I just pray it works everytime I ride it lol
