Need help with 2012 CVO RG speaker adapters
« on: February 14, 2015, 11:53:33 AM »

I am installing Focal PC 165 6.5" round speakers in my CVO that originally came with 5x7 ovals. I have a flat panel adapter from best kits that looks like it it can be modified to fit on the oem adapters, but will require grinding off the oem tabs.
Does anyone know of a better adapter thats a direct bolt in to use on the 2012 CVO RG models? Thanks

Biketronics makes a great kit. I installed this kit on mine with the 7.1 speakers. Check them out on line. good stuff.

did you make any additional changes? ie. different amp, lid speakers, etc....  i notice these are 4 ohm impedence while the stock cvo system is 1 ohm.

and now that you've done it, what is your take on the difference in sound?

Too soon to tell. Im still installing everything. No lid speakers, just the fairing ones. I disabled the oem dash tweeters for now because the Focals have directable tweeters. Went with Arc Audio amp, Focal PC 165 6-3/4" speakers and went with a Kenwood deck because I wanted Bluetooth and Pandora, along with my XM (even though I had the HK modules). I should have it fired up in a day or two, then I will post my review on how it sounds.
