I have found I needed to charge a phone or other device during rallies or long rides, only to find the 12 power port thing not working and inconvenient because it only charges with bike ON. So I ordered some parts, waited until a snowy weekend, and installed a custom charging place that has power regulation and out of the way with no tangled wires. I ordered a basic Harley tourpack collapsing storage pouch from my dealer for about 20 bucks. A 12v USB 2 port regulated charger from 12 Volt Designs for 30 bucks, and misc. connectors and such for a few bucks more. I included photos that will have the part numbers. I wanted to have a place that would be out of the way, with no stress on the cords and charger port, and protected. I originally was going to "Y" off the power line to the 12v power lighter connector, but chose to "Y" off the wiring the dealer installed to fix a constant drain problem from the LED lights in the tour pak area. Another topic to post sometime. This power line is constant and has its own fuse protection. Very easy to install. I just wanted to put the USB ports in a position so there would be minimal stress when the ports are connected. Works great!!! Plus it also holds my PikePass thing.
