BCM error Code U0184??
« on: March 14, 2015, 02:58:07 PM »

On my 2014 CVO Road King, I have a BCM error code U0184 which says in the manual as "Lost comm w/radio"....which I guess is true since there is not radio.

I keep clearing it but it keeps coming back.

Anyone got any ideas as to what going on  :nixweiss:

Or is there a radio on this thing that I don't know about?

So they replaced the BCM and error code gone.....but the knucklehead did not configure the BCM correctly.
The tech did not know that the rear lights were a four wire setup until I showed him the wiring diagram.

Had the BCM reprogramed and still is not right.  No error code, but when I turn the switch to assessories....the rear lights come on.

When programming or flashing the bcm they should have options to choose from.  Radio yes/no cruise control yes/no ect....   This tells the bcm what options the bike has.  If you tell it has a radio for example and when it waits for a signal from the radio and does not recive that signal it turns on the check engine light.  Same way if it had a security system, abs it would need to see a signal from the abs control module or many other functions that the bike does.

I know this don't help you any but I hope it explains a little.
