any issues on 07 Road King?
« on: February 25, 2015, 05:23:38 PM »

I'm looking at 3  different 2007 CVO Road King's
one is right here but to many miles and asking way to much

Rons Rad Rides has a real nice one with 16k on the odometer but again asking way more than I believe is worth
and

then I found another in Colordao, real nice, less than 2000 miles and the asking price is right in my range but I just do not know enough about the year or 110's in that time frame is why I'm asking

The CVO Road Kings had front brake rotor issues as in a lot of replacements due to warping, along with all the othere issues the 07's and 08's had.

I would pass on the 07 even with 2000 miles. I had an 07 SERK traded in with 85000 miles on it. If I did not have the extended Warranty I would have had about $7,000 out of pocket expenses after the first 2 years warranty was up. Never broke down on the road but had the engine apart 4 times trans 3 times 3 compensators and ready for a new one. PLus many other little things went wrong. The 14 SERK has been perfect for 18,000 miles.    Billy

I'd suggest no older than 2009....because of the frame design. I had a 2008 RK with a detach Batwing fairing for longer rides

well then!

that is why I ask the experts!
I really wanted this and $17,000 was cool for a new 07'

http://www.gjharley.com/default.asp?page=xPreOwnedInventoryDetail&id=998082&p=2&s=Year&d=D&t=preowned&fr=xPreOwnedInventory

but if I'm going to ride like I want to and it's going to show it's ugly head of issues and repairs
I
will put the pen down and look again,
later!

Just for grins I'm putting the 01 on a for sale list just to see if I can get a half arse decent price for it,
will make it easier at the house to buy another better

Thanks

I bought an 07' SERK back in March. I've only ridden about 600 miles so far this summer, and the only small issue I've had was the drive-belt tension needed adjustment. The 110 is strong, and has zero issues. Tranny shifts strong - no issues...Brakes are solid, etc...

The way I see it....If something major was going to happen to the "07' or 08'" models...Its happened. The 1st owner had to deal with it. Anything that goes down now is just typical wear and tear on an 8+ year old bike.

I bought an 07 last OCT with 5800 miles. I like it and it has been good so far. Mobil 1 synthetic and Lucas synthetic additive got rid of that slight but annoying tick. My only bitch is that it goes through tires. New Metzler me880 lasted only 4000 miles. I dont notice any braking issues.
