2015 CVO Road Glide Saddle Bag Speakers
« on: April 30, 2015, 10:03:59 PM »

I installed the quick detach tour pack kit and I plan on leaving it off. I want to add the saddle bag lid speakers. I know I need two lids and the speakers. My dealer is telling me I also must install 76000277A (amplifier) and 76000584 (amp install kit).

I don't understand why I need an amp. There was no amp in the tour pack so I didn't take an amp off the bike. I am thinking if I get the speaker wire harness for the tour pack I should be able to get the speakers running fine?

Has anyone done this?
Do I need to buy the amp?

I have not done it but the amps are in the fairing.  So, I think you're correct about wiring the speakers.  Dave posted a great thread to help:  Converting tour pack to Quick Detach

If you are only going to run the saddle bag speakers they should plug into your factory harness that was for your stock speakers on your removed tourpack
and no amp needed but if you reinstall tourpack with rear speakers and still want the saddlebag speakers to work aswell your going to need the extra amp

After a lot of research in addition to the two saddlebag speaker lids I need:

76000489 Speakers  $399.95
9020116  Saddlebag speaker cover kit  $77.26

The CVO already has a 300 Watt Amp so a new amp in not needed. (I am only running 4 speakers) I will let you know after I install these items.
