My wife would like a new bike...for a few reasons. Wants fuel injection so she doesn't have to be the first one out to warm her bike up. Wants hard bags that are more convenient than the three straps on the bags she has. Wants ABS.

FI and ABS can't be added....hard bags are about $1750 painted.

My Wife is short....and light. The Sporty was lowered in the back with Progressives....probably do the same to the FXD. Harley has a reduced reach/slimmer seat...probably do that instead of changing the bars.....can change the bars if still needed though (adding Heat Demons anyway)

She thinks the boards are awkward.....everyone, including me, says she will get used to them and love them very soon.

Would also be adding the engine guard( and Elephant ears) and bag guards.....and changing the exhaust(V&H duals??).

A sportster rides harsh, and even harsher when lowered.  My wife went from a sportster to a Heritage with no issues.  At that time ABS was only available on select touring bikes.  In 11, when she wanted a new bike, the only thing I insisted on was ABS.

I can complete understand your wife wanting ABS and Fuel Injection.  Switchback is a nice bike.  She should also check the Heritage, it may offer a lower seat height.  Either would be a nice step for your wife.

Have her sit on a Deluxe.  They have a low seat height and good ergonomics (bar type and height) for the shorter rider.  It's not as sporty as the Dyna, but might be a better fit.
