Sounds like a severe case of clutch drag.  What fluid did you use, and how much?  If you overfill a Harley primary, the excess fluid will cause clutch drag.  With the bike sitting level, the fluid level should just barely touch the bottom of the clutch spring.

The owners manual says 38 oz or 45 oz if primary cover was removed.Ive got about 40 oz in there. Its sync3 h-d oil.I was dead on at 38 before i double check.

Clutch drag most likely, but a worn compensator snaps and clunks a lot, too.  How many miles are on your current comp?

I don't know why there would be any reason the primary oil change would be to blame.
