No problem with the Mobil 1 oil filter, made by the same company as the factory HD Filters and K&N
Champion labs. http://www.champlabs.com/content/mobil-branded-filter-limited-warranty

Here is an update:
Once called Champion Laboratories, Inc. the company is now labeled FRAM Filtration a the registered trademark of FRAM Group IP LLC.
A manufacturer and distributor of filter product brands: Fram, VW, Mobil, STP, TRO, Mopar, K & N and others. Their customer tech department advised us they also make oil filters for AC/Delco and Walmart under the Super Tech brand. (source) http://www.b4usa.com/champion-laboratories-inc/

You know why I stick to the K&N oil filters? That nifty 17 mm nut that makes it a snap to remove the filter!

Does this Mobil 1 filter have that? I figure K&N has a patent on it, because I don't see anyone elses filters with it.

LC, thanks for the info...

NS, No the Mobile1 filter doesn't have the 17mm nut, I agree it's handy.

I had some Pep Boys rewards $$, went to PB with the intention of getting the K&N, the Mobil1 is the only TC filter that they could find, I ordered 5, thanks to the input here I won't have any anxiety giving the M1s a try... The M1 seems like a premium filter...

I've gotten K&N's locally at Cycle Gear and a few auto parts stores have them.  Its the KN-171 B or C for touring bikes.  I like that the Drag filter has both the nut and the ridges on the cylinder so an old filter wrench will work too.

While the Drag filter has the nut, people should not assume the actual filter is the same.  According to the Drag catalog, that filter has a paper element.  The K&N has a premium synthetic media element, which is common on most companies premium grade (and price) filters.  Just thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone thought they were the same.

The last filter I will ever buy.The car The bikes The diesel truck I can now run longer between oil changes,IT STAY SO MUCH CLEANER :cucumber: :orange:
The most technically advanced oil filter you can buy
Consistent filtering across entire filter surface
Superior ASTMF316 filtration performance
7 times the flow of comparable paper oil filters
Magnetic Prefiltering
Billet aluminum filter case doubles as an oil cooler
Progressive rate bypass combined with high flow characteristics of the filter media avoids unfiltered oil bypassing the filter during cold startup and high rpm
No more cutting apart messy paper filters for trapped debris inspection
Proven in Motorsports, Military and Aerospace applications for years
No more oily paper filters to the landfills
May be the last oil filter you’ll buy
