Throttle Heated Grip Pulled Off - How to Reinstall
« on: June 29, 2015, 05:13:07 AM »

2009 SE Ultra with Factory Heated Grips.
I went to move the bike around yesterday and notice I was pulling the right grip off.  So I saw wires and thought this can't be good so I pulled it all the way off.
I checked and the wires still get hot just need to know how to reassemble with the wires and ensure that it won't slide off again.

Upon looking at it more closely it actually the shell of the grip.  The grip must be a 2 pcs so the outershell came off exposing heated grip wires.  Any ideas on how best to put it back together?

Thanks.

I had the same thing happen a few years ago, but it was on a road with lots of curves, scarred the **** out of me when it started to come off. I took it to a dealer and they just used some super glue to put it back on. Only problem with the fix was the clown doing the job somehow got a drop of glue on my tank, he wiped if off but it left a mark.

Happened to me a few years ago out on the road. First thought was something wrong with motor then noticed the right grip sliding off. Stopped in a dealer and was told pick out new grips they need replaced. So either they did or they sold me a new set instead of fixing the other. :nixweiss:
