Problem - Rivco "centerstand"
« on: August 15, 2016, 09:53:45 AM »

Hello Riders - for those of you with a RIVCO Centerstand:
- I have had 4 of these on other bikes and never had an issue
- I now have one on my 16 CVO
- It was installed as a "ride off"
- I tried adjusting - following directions - to make it higher to get rear whell off the ground
- I'm fouling up
- I can back out the leg pegs no problem
- But it will not balance - when I step into the arm it will not remain in place securely
- Thers my stupid question for the day if anyone can shed light with similar experience?
thnx, Jim

Did you tighten the small hex head nut to secure the legs?

The adjustable legs only face one way.

Ride safe!

I did indeed replace and tighten the set screws - for sure I learned the legs only face one way and that way accommodates the "flat" side of the leg bolts so the screw can get flush.  I'm overlooking something.  Ugh.

How I leveled mine was to turn each leg fully in and back each out the same number of turns.
When putting the bike on the center stand, I would put my foot on the stand and lightly rock the bike side to side to make sure that the stand was centered on the two feet.

Hope this helps. Any photos?

Thnx -- I'm going to re-try tonight.  I did count turns -- left-right is ok.  Its front-back that still rocks too easy - comes off completely instead of being solid like my others. I'll try once more and will advise.  Grateful, Jim

This may not be to your problem, but I have to ask: If you want it to be a ride-off, then the rear wheel has to be on the ground, and then it will be more likely to let the bike go forward.  What am I missing?
