Auxiliary Lights on 2014 FLHRSE?
« on: July 24, 2016, 08:29:11 AM »

Thinking about putting auxiliary lights on my 2014 SERK.
  1) Anyone done this?
  2) Can you provide details on what kits are needed?
  3) And, are any "mods" required?
  4) Any thoughts on going BLACK or CHROME (there's a lot of both on this bike)?

Seems the Motor Company's accessory catalog is somewhat "unclear" as to what is required.
States something to the effect of "additional parts required" - without a lot of detail.
Local dealer's "chrome guru" seems to think that I'm gonna have to "modify wiring" as well as
"drill holes in the headlamp housing"...

I'm thinking the FLHRSE (which I can't believe didn't come with aux lights - it's a CVO after all)
without the extra front lights looks like "something's missing" without 'em. The big "FL" front end
seems to be "off" or "unbalanced" with just the headlamp atop those big touring-bike forks...

>>> any help on getting the right kits (the less blacksmithing the better) would be appreciated.

Thanks
Bubba

There are several threads on this with some good info. I agree with you, the FLHRSE looks much better with the passing lamps. I have the Chrome Harley lamps with the new mounts that do not have the mustache bar on my 2013 FLHRSE5. I think they look great. They are no problem to install. The wiring is already behind the headlamp. Here is a link with some good reading:

Harley sells a kit that includes everything you need to install these.
Hope this helps ya,
Dwayne

I added a circuit using the Harley kit and wired them independent of the Aux lights on my limited. Wanted to run aux separate than the LED fog lamps I mounted low.

I also mounted the LED fog lamps for a buddy who wanted them wired with the aux. Both ways work fine and dealer had the correct wiring harness for each job (except mine was just for power and switch added to dash, wiring from fuse block was on me..)

I added the passing lamps to my 2014 CVO Road King. I had my dealer install them while it was in winter storage so it was ready for this years riding season when I picked it up. THESE ARE WITHOUT THE MUSTACHE BAR AND I HAD PREVIOUSLY HAD THE TURN SIGNALS RELOCATED OFF THE HANDLEBARS TO THE SIDE OF THE FORK.  The parts are as follows...
HD ALN KIT-AUX LAMP LED 4           PART # 680000172     CATALOG PRICE $399.95
HD ALN KIT-WIRE HARNESS LED      PART # 69200897      CATALOG PRICE $19.95
HD HDM CUSTOM PASSING LAMP     PART # 69227-04A     CATALOG PRICE $289.95

SHOP AROUND OR ORDER ON LINE FOR CHEAPER PRICES. Good luck and ride safe.
