VERY good question.......

But suffice to say it'll be interesting to see what happens when people start watching the TPMS screen on the '16s.
Bet most people have no clue how much air pressure their tires gain when they heat up.........

A good ball park figure is a one psi change for every ten degrees F.  So if your tire temperature rises sixty degrees, the tire pressure will rise roughly six psi.  And that's why there is a MAXIMUM inflation pressure molded into the tire sidewall.  It is set at a level that allows for that pressure increase as the temp rises so you don't exceed the real safe maximum when hot.
