New V & H Monster Ovals smoking
« on: September 22, 2015, 12:27:07 AM »

I just had V & H Monster Ovals and an FP3 Fuelpak installed on my 2015 CVO Limited. After a 50 mile or so ride there is still a little smoke coming from the pipes. Is this normal for that long ? It's a little concerning.

Thanks.

Yep, put on another 100 miles, if they're still smoking you can start to worry.

Smoke coming out of the muffler? or off the outside of the pipes?

To clarify it's coming out of the muffler on the right side mostly. I only noticed it when I shut the bike off at home. There was still a little bit when I got home yesterday. Will see what today brings.

Thanks

Mine did the exact same thing, right side mostly. It happened at a time when my bike puked a little coolant so I was sure it was steam and a blown something or other...

Might be time to lose the fuel pac and get a dyno tune.

All three V&H pipes installed have done that while they cook off whatever is in there from manufacturing.

Went for another ride today and when I got home there was no smoke. It looks like it's all gone. I have about 100 miles on them now. I guess all the stuff is burnt off !

I just put the Fuelpak in when the pipes were installed. Just curious as to why you say to get rid of it.

Hard to diagnose off the internet. Glad it was something on the pipe and it's OK now. If it runs to your satisfaction good to go. Enjoy.
