Our Ultimate was destroyed in an accident on the Ohio Turnpike and due to its stout construction probably saved our lives. I was able to use modified automotive strut shocks as replacements which worked well. John's partner early on got a great deal on out of production shocks and used them until they ran out and then redesigned the suspension to take motorcycle type shocks. You can see the early suspension with the shock towers in the pics. I just measured the travel and found shocks at a local auto store to match up.
The bucket was changed a lot to accommodate the wider 3.00 tires in 94 and won't work with the earlier buckets, but there are a lot of 2.50 width tires around. The Turbos are pretty much the same after 94 except for tail lights and a few odds and ends. The Turbo +2 is longer and has two more cubic feet of storage.
So if you want a challenge purchase a pre 94...suspension, tires, shocks are obsolete, but can be worked around. Post 94 your pretty much current.
