I see jet skis tuned you into a child too. I sold ours when in one season I got hurt and a week later my wife got tossed off and screwed her back up. Something about them made bus drive like little kids lol

Yep, they can say what they will about motorcycles.  It's those damn wave runners that'll take you out.  :nervous:

I have rode every bran new Harley I have owned to Key West from Knoxville TN.  I have used a couple chain hotels.  The last four times we have been using  bed and breakfast on the quiet end of Duval St.  Easy walk to any where on Duval, and not bad to Mallory Square for the sun sets.

This bed and breakfast is Duval Gardens.  Nice old house, small pool, nice siting areas and balconies.  Its also two blocks from the Hemingway House.

Things to see.
Hemingway House
Mallory Square Sunset
Southernmost point
Little White House

Night life
Captain Tonys
Sloppy Joe's
Irish Kevins
and many many more.

I like to sit at Carolin's right next to side walk have a cigar and a few beers and people watch.  Several place to do this.

This was 13

Great !! Love to people watch, and Drink Beer and smoke a stogie

How are you getting there?  Flying in directly?

If you're flying in and you're staying right down in the heart of Duval (like the Duval Inn that I mentioned above) then everything is pretty much walking distance.  I believe they also have the pedicabs.

I believe flying in to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale and renting a car would be cheaper and a more adventurous trip than flying directly in to Key West and renting there.  At least it was, back when we did it.  However, we opted to rent a bike instead of a car and so that was a bit more costly.

You can rent scooters there too, did that one year but finally couldn't ride them anymore.  Too many drinks at Fat Tuesdays.

The  Westin at Mallory Square is on the water but key west doesn't have a lot of what I consider beaches.

We usually stay with friends in the middle Keys, when staying in Key West, we like the Pier House at the foot of Duvall St.

We stay at the KEY LIME INN. Have been staying in that location for 18 years now, yearly. The folks that own it also have a few other properties and can check them all for you if you call regarding availability.
Always think we will take the bike to Duval (we usually go during Poker Run week) but never have, always walk.
GREAT TIME. No need for a rental car, if you actually want to go somewhere you can't walk then grab a cab, or UBER.

We were there 3 weeks ago, stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites on Roosevelt, its about 2 miles from Duvall street and the other attractions mentioned but parking was never an issue, several side streets right off Duvall have designated parking for scooters and motorcycles, we never had a problem finding a (free) place to park. The hotel has a great pool/outdoor bar area and covered bike parking, they also rent bicycles and scooters, if your looking for a chain hotel I would highly recommend it.
