NIM Module Question
« on: January 29, 2016, 10:23:00 AM »

Has anyone successfully got a NIM module to work on a 2013 cvo Roadglide custom and if so what was needed to make it happen? According to the Harley fitment guide it's not compatible with these bikes. I was looking at putting one of the new Roadtech 590 Zumos on the bike and just wanted to get my ducks in a row before spending $800 on it.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Dean

It's called a NIM, or Navigation Interface Module.  While the catalog claims it won't work on the FLTRSE5, I remember several threads from a few years back that indicated you can install it with some wiring modifications.  Try searching the Road Glide Custom and Electronic Toys and Gadgets boards.

I changed my original post so people have an idea what I'm talking about. I'll try to dig up some old posts. Thanks Jerry👍

I installed a NIM on the 12 SERG I had.  HD says it will not work on that either.  You have to modify the wiring, but it will work,

Do  search for installing the NIM, or NIM wiring or something its back 2 or 3 years.

Might check if the NIM works with the new 590, it was designed for the Road Tech 660/665.

The NIM will work with the new 590 the same as the older road techs. I found out the NIM wiring will need to be spliced into my particular bike harness. Harley says it can't be done but I found out from researching through some old posts and the help of Jim from the forum that it can. My 590 will be in this weekend so I'll see soon enough. Time to put my crappy soldering skills to work  :'(
