Rush Big Louie 2" baffles
« on: November 16, 2015, 06:04:57 PM »

Can't find may reviews or sound clips on the net and am considering these if, after my rebuild/tune in the spring, I am told my Rineharts need to go. Don't want to get rid of them, but I recently found after a cam and headpipe change, I suddenly had a low tq dip that wasn't there before. Seems like I may need a 2" baffle muffler. I know the Crushers get good reviews performance wise, but I'm not sold on the sound, so am looking for alternatives with 2" baffles.

I wonder how the Big Louies compare sound wise to the Rineharts (which have a bigger 2.25" baffles with no baffle wrap)

I used to run Fullsac 2" baffled CVO mufflers, and I'm guessing they would sound about the same as the Rush?

Actually found a decent sound clip. Its with the 2.25 baffles but he's running a OEM cat pipe, so the sound of the 2.0 baffles with a catless headpipe should be equivalent, more or less I figure.

Actually sounds real good in that clip- very much like the Rinehart sound  :2vrolijk_21:

Well the rinehart is a simple baffle pull it out and replace it with a 2.0 louvered core. I have a set that we are going to mod for a customer he loves the look of it. But the 2.25 baffle is a bit large. The other route and we had done this and it works very well is to crush the stock baffle down about 2/3 of its length to 1.75-2.0 .  I should have taken a few pic's when I did the last one.

Which 2.0 core works with the Rinehart cans? I have a set of my original CVO cans with Fullsac 2.0 cores?...maybe I should see if the Fullsac cores fit inside the Rineharts.

Its not a direct fit.. It would require some cutting and welding.. But the core really is simply design. Pull the core out of the Rinehart and you can see what needs to be done. I thought that maybe a 2.0  louvered core  blank might slide  inside of the 2.25 , If not easy enough to use the stock core as parts and weld in a smaller center section
