On 2 past HD's have run the Power Commander III USB models without any problems. Was considering using the PC V on a 2008 SERK but have been reading less than favorable reviews on the PC V. Has PC's quality slipped a bit?
Which unit seems to be the leading favorite of the ones on the market and what features do you like?
The V&H FuelPak was on the bike when I got it, worked fine but would not support mods other than a/c and pipes. If you're not going past that, a great, cost effective unit, especially if using V&H Pipes
Went to the SERT included in the SE Stage III Kit, hours of Dyno time, (I only paid a flat fee) worked well after a return trip to the Dyno to get a flat spot out, not every Harley Dealer has a "good" Dyno guy, Dealers are prone to use "canned" MAPs..
While there are some posting negativity about the PowerCommander V, none that I have seen, state that they have / had direct experience, what their experience is / was with the PC-V

, only touting how some of the other (mostly flash type) Tuners are so much better ( I'm sure they're out there, I just haven't seen any)...
In my Build Thread,
http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=91650.0 I've tried to give objective feedback over time on the Components we selected for a "Sport Touring" Build.
The PC-V / Autotune was great for me, feeling more responsive in the 2k-3k range and better fuel mileage than the flash Tuner / Dyno Tune that I replaced it with. The PC-V / Auto was drama free for 20k miles, the opportunity was presented to check out what is going to be a "benchmark product" (the Maximus, Tuning
and Diagnostics) in the developmental stage.
Now before some start saying "It's the Dyno Operator, you need to find a "good" one." realize that Oasis Cycles supplied me with the Base Map for the PC-V / Auto, Oasis is working with TechnoResearch, The MoCo & S&S, on Tuning and Diagnostics. Oasis has a significant onsite Tuning / Diagnostic Training Center, along with the latest & greatest DynoJet Dyno. A world class operation. I got Mark (at Oasis) being one of the best Tuners in the country...
Mark did tell me that the mileage was going to drop above 85 mph (he knows how I roll, sometimes for hours on end

) and he set it there to be safe, (even though the 117 has had no Tune / heat related issues, no issues at all for that matter) he knows I'm not chasing #s, just want longevity in a "Sport Touring" Platform...
The PC-V / AutoTune was a great product for me on the '09 Build, not having to DynoTune or re-DynoTune if Component changes were required was great... check out my Thread for more details...
