111 build
« on: January 06, 2016, 06:26:21 PM »

Thought I had all the leg work done on this but now having problems. 2003 roller bearing t/c motor. I want to use s&s 4 1/8 flywheel ass. 4 1/8 cylinder kit. 89cc heads. When the shop calls S&S they said I MUST convert to the timken bearing. When I talked to them they said can be used with the roller. Any builders out there that can help clarify this/done this build. Not that it matters but a 570 gear drive EZ start cam is being used. Static C/P 10 to 1. Have at it!

the inner race can be pressed on the sprocket shaft for the roller bearing, why you wouldn't want to do a Timken conversion I don't know though,i would over the roller

I would do the Timken, more stable IMO. I like the .570 cams, have seen them shine in 88" -110" builds. I'm also a fan of square motors. The 100" S&S 4X4 Evo I ran was the smoothest. If I was going to build a motor from the ground up I would copy what your doing.  :2vrolijk_21:

Just buy the sleeve I may even have one laying around. Heat it up in a basic oven to 325 it will drop right on .  :2vrolijk_21: Problem solved. I would have no issue running the roller bearing with that crank.

Problem solved, shop owner along with S&S rep not communicating correctly. (shop OWNER not tech) is not a real motor head. Back to normal. Thanks for the input.
