Exaust wrap
« on: January 03, 2016, 12:30:39 PM »

Any preferance to any kind of wrap for my baffles? Going to check/redo wrap when the stock cans are being coated.

Check out Bristol Core and ask for Morgan. They make muffler packing for all the big suppliers. He fixed me up right. (585) 919-0302

Based on others recommendations, I picked up some "Dynamat" baffle wrap off ebay. I only used it for a short time, as I experimented with using this wrap held on the inner walls of my Rineharts with Fullsac screens, but it seems like it would hold up well.

Good find. I have been looking for a source for my V&H Ovals. V&H as was not help as was another vendor that I really expected help from.

Does anyone know if the older style V&H ovals are "serviceable", eg repack?

I've tried several brands and I prefer Lexx 4 stroke Silencer packing on my mufflers. You need 1 pack for each muffler. It's heavy and dense. In order to get it to slide into the mufflers I needed to remove a very thin layer when wrapping it around the screens to be used with my Fullsac cores. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003O6VWAE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00

I have rewrapped a few V@H cores using 4stroke packing and got good results  also used a stainless steel wool wrap and really liked the way it has lasted in one of my bikes...

I've used stuff from Bristol Core and also some picked up locally at a metric shop. Bristol was a very helpful resource.
