New stereo suggestions needed
« on: February 23, 2016, 11:57:00 PM »

I have a 2009 SERG. I upgraded the factory stereo back in 2010. I replaced everything, head unit, speakers, saddle bag lids with speakers and 1200 watts of amps.  At the time I installed an Alpine marine stereo. It worked great for 4 years but now there problems. It doesn't always power up and when it does the handle bar controls (volume, etc) don't work. Can someone suggest a good head unit stereo?

I am running the Aquatic head unit with Focal KRC in the fairing and Hybrid Audio Tech in the lids. Very happy with it, clear as a bell compared to the stock unit and plug n play with factory controls.

depends "how deep' you want to go. The stereo is super important to me and i ride with a FF helmet and have Boarzilla pipes so I had to go all in. Kenwood Echelon KDC-958 head unit, 2 Arc 600 series amps, Focal KRX2 in front and Focal 7X10's in the lids. for me the set up works incredible at all speeds even allowing me to listen to a football or baseball game at speed with everything I have going on and hear every word. Of course the music which is what I listen to 99.9% of the time sounds better on my bike than any car I listen to.
Good luck with whatever you go with!

I have the aquatic AV also with krc165 in the fairing and the lowers. .  I have the Arc amp sitting right on top of the radio. .  Also hybrid 5x7 s in the bags. . Great set up. . And I removed the ipod from the saddle bag that worked when it wanted.  It's a great way to go.  Stuart.

If anyone has a 2012 Ultra that wants to get rid of their stock rear speakers let me know.
