111 build
« on: May 12, 2016, 06:22:07 PM »

500+ miles on my 111 S&S build. Really liking the quieter valve train thanks to the true flywheels, and ditching the woods 6hg cams for the S&S 570G EZ starts. Oil change and 500 more miles and I can let er rip. Very impressed with the EZ start cams. Althought some say otherwise, no "clack" sound even with a rather low idle. Just a small click on shutdown, barely noticable. Bike is a 2003 FLHR. Gas mileage started at 42 and climbed to 45-46. Better than when it was 95".

IMO you can't beat a S&S 111" square motor for all around street/highway use. Great power, smooth quiet operation. Just got done riding with a guy last 3 days who has one (Evo version) in his Springer Softail, 67,000 miles on the motor. He's been on the road for the last 6 weeks, running it hard, hasn't missed a beat. Enjoy yours.

I have a S&S V111 with almost 60k miles.  I replaced the lifters at 55k miles as a precaution.  I love the motor.  Great street and highway motor with plenty of power for Hot Rodding. Oil temp never exceeded 200 even when Riding in 100 degrees Louisiana weather.
