Does anyone have any specifics or even thoughts on the two as a direct comparison? Of the research that I've done on my own, the Pro Actions would seem to be the best choice for me if I do make a change. I've seen a couple of threads on here with some really good info. but really not in the form of a comparison between the two. I see several sets of the Premium ride Hand Adjustable Touring Shocks that are stock on our FLHXSEs on ebay for sale so that kind of leads me to believe that I'm not the only one looking for answers to this dilemma. Any info. and or experienced opinions would be appreciated. Also, is anyone aware of a way to get a descent discount on these? $795 is a little hard to swallow.
Thanks in advance,
Kelly
I'm guessing that this is the thread you reviewed in the forum, Kelly:
http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=103431.0You are asking about comparisons but from the lack of information on these shocks, that may tell you something of either they are really bad, not that many on the road or they may be that good and folks who have purchased them haven't gotten off the bike long enough to write a review.....
I actually enjoy the premium HD shocks. Had them on my '12 and changed out the not-too-good stock HD air shocks on my '15 for the HD premium. Threads here talk at length about "this one is great; that one is greater" with most members recommending options of either Progressive or Ohlin with one or two other suggestions peppered about.
Looking at these Pro-Action shocks on their website and reading the review in Baggers Mag, they "review" very well and that $795 price really isn't that bad compared to the $600 for the HD Premium and $1,000 or more for Ohlin or other brands.
If it were me, I'd contact Pro-Action directly. Talk to them about your concerns with few reviews and discuss pricing options. Who knows, they may work with you on pricing just to get more of these on the street for more reviews.
Good luck in whatever direction you go, Kelly.
