Grab Bar Modification
« on: April 28, 2016, 06:54:00 PM »

I had a grab bar that was originally on 08 Ultra Limited, than put it on my 2013 Ultra limited,  and it didn't take long to realize it needed to hand grips when I first bought it so the wife could hold onto them to reposition herself, when I installed them on the 2013 Limited, they fit great also. The problem came to play when we bought the 2015 CVO Ultra limited. The heated seat is a lot wider than the seats on the other bikes.
Looking at the grab bar for the 2015 to buy, I found at the time there is no hand grips for them and with the bar so small in diameter I decided to make the grab bar from the old bikes fit the new bike.
With the grab bar mount to the fender, placing the seat in position I determined it needed 1 inch added to each side.

I also need to move the hand bars 1/4 inch forward on the cross over bar to give 1/4 clearance from the speakers.
For me this was a great savings as I already had the grab bar, just needing to modify it.
