You will need 5 nutserts 3/8 x 16, to install in the bed.  I use a 1000 amp Deep Cycle Battery that is independent of the trucks dual batteries.  Always keep a hand on the bike as it goes up, it is possible for the bike to tip over, do not ask me how I know.  Good luck Ed

The guy even has an extra set of the nutserts for me that he didn't use......I will order another set just in case.

The bike can tip over?? :nervous:  Do you strap from the handlebars or the lower legs?

Lower legs. NEVER on the bars. They'll bend.
The first time you use it can be a little scary and a learning experience. You CANNOT crank those straps down as they will tighten a little on the way up. I used soft ties around the down tube to the attachment points on the lift. You can also use them around the lower fork tubes right at the axle to keep from compressing the suspension. I'm not sure if I still have pix that showed my tie down points on my PC but I'll look.

Was thinking the same thing with the bars....but they say strap to the bottom triple tree so the suspension compresses a little when the straps tighten up. I was thinking lower legs right above the bolts for the fender. And getting to the lower tree would not be easy

You may want to think about the tie down brackets made for a batwing.  Would make life a lot easier. They don't make them for the Sharks. Hopefully Ed will chime in again and maybe have better advice as He also has a batwing.

I saw these which I would be OK with...but they don't work with the newer style spot lamp...the bar for the lamp comes out exactly where the loop is

These might work...there is even a hole for the wiring to pass through

That may be the easiest way to strap it down without possible paint damage.

Mike, I put 2 bow tie straps around the cross bar and secure to the wheel chock, after loading I use these straps to anchor to the corner brackets in the pick up bed.  I use two straps on each bow tie end.  I also use two bow tie straps at the corners of the chrome frame under the tour pack.  I do not remove them because they are tight.  Do NOT load the bike with the truck bed on an angle that would permit the carriage to free wheel to the front of the bed.  After securing the bike I also tie a 1/2" diameter rope around the real wheel and tie it back to the trailer hitch, this stops the bike from rolling into the front of the bed under a hard brake event.  Ed

Thanks Ed....and I get it.....don't load with the truck facing downhill. Using the frame cross bar is tricky since my bike is water cooled and there are cooling lines running in that area. I think I will order the tie down brackets in the previous post.

I installed a pair of them on my CUSE6 when It had to ride in a moving truck last fall when we moved -  I couldn't figure out how to ride three motocycles and drive two cars at the same time, yeah I know I should have put more effort into that  ;D . They worked great, allowing me to "preload" the suspension as much or as little as desired and they look good enough to leave them installed.

Different part number because of the model year difference but basically the same part and they fit perfectly with the spot light / turn signal mounting.

Saw them in stock at my local shop for the same price as online so I picked them up. Haven't put them on yet....
