So its been mostly raining in the NC Mnts for the last 4 days. Yesterday was a real heavy mist so I had a few acres up a hill that I needed to bush hog bad. Mowing along real slow I saw a coyote jump from the heavy stuff and take off.......dang no gun. As I made the return pass, what a beautiful sight......hair, teeth & eyeballs all over. Counted at least 4 kits and maybe more in the carnage. Sorry animal lovers, we have too many varmints and they killed 2 of my neighbors calves this spring. Call it revenge!!!!

Mow faster, they are taking over the country it seems. Unfortunately I ran over a whitetail fawn last year while mowing, hated that.

Hehehe. Kill 'em all!  Stupid assed federal government sent them into WV to curb the Deer population.  Seems they like chicken and beef more than they like venison.  Later--HUBBARD

Agree, they're a much bigger fan of chicken than venison. In Federal Government fashion since the taxpayers paid to populate them, they will start paying a bounty to kill them when they figure out they over-populated them. In my neck of the woods they released bobcats to control the dear. Unfortunately, they have figured out the bobcats much prefer rabbits to venison, so now rabbits are becoming scarce. So, they can release bobcats, coyotes and rattlesnakes to control dear, but we can only hunt dear for 7 days with a gun. WTF..... I got nothin!

I hear you all....it's against the law in NC to kill a timber rattler! If I see one he's dead, with the warden watching if necessary.

Last year I shot a deer with an arrow, and a coyote about 45 minutes later.   Best year ever.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service turn these bastards loose in the Shawnee National Forest here. They get pretty big, and not nice. I'm with you Jimmy, I see one it's a bunch of dead, regardless of the law about killing them.

Another way we protect our herds against coyotes here, is Donkeys.  We can't ride a 4-wheeler around all day looking for coyotes to shoot.  Too many other chores during the day.  They sneak around, looking for new-born calves.  A Donkey is the only thing I've seen them have respect for.  They know that Donkey will kick the chit out of 'em, and if he connects with their head........no more coyote.  Mother Nature's security team.  Plus, a Donkey is funny as hell.  The most comical animal on the farm, is the Pig.  But we don't have any of them.  When I retire, I'm gonna' get me a couple of 'em!  Later--HUBBARD
