Boom GPS recalculation
« on: September 21, 2016, 11:04:44 AM »

I cannot locate an option to change automatic route recalculation to manual recalculation as can be done with the Garmin Zumo products.  Is there any way to stop auto recalc on the H-D Boom gps when you deviate from the route?

Not sure if this is the same thing that you are looking for but found this in my manual for my 16

The system can be configured to manually or automatically select a new route based on traffic data. The system will only provide a new route when it is calculated to be at least five minutes faster than the current route.

1.Select Home > Setup > Traffic.

2.Choose the rerouting setting.

a.Automatic: The system will automatically adjust the route according to traffic data.

b.Manual: The system will provide a popup when a new route is suggested. The rider can choose to accept or reject the recalculated route.

c.Off: The system will not prompt with any new routes based on traffic data.

There is no way to disable the auto routing. The info that Chief2505 only effects the traffic alert rerouting.

Thanks Joe! I wasn't sure if those settings were for everything or not.

Yup. That's what I thought . . . and was afraid of!  Guess I'll have to learn to live with it.

Any way to change the voice that announced the nav prompts?

As far as I know you can't change the voice but you can turn the voice prompt off.

Thanks.  Could not find any option to change the voice.  No problem.  It is better than the Garmin nav prompts so it will be OK.  Thanks much for the feedback.   :2vrolijk_21:

If you want Nav voice instructions but don't want the radio or music on, how do you adjust for that?  I found it won't give me instructions unless the radio is on.  All I can think of is leave the radio on but turn the volume all the way down.  Don't think that's how it was intended...

You are correct. If you don't want to hear any music but still want the nav prompts you have to turn the music volume down to the lowest setting and it will mute the music. The same goes for the phone and cb. They all have individual volume settings.
