Harley Boom Infotainment RDS traffic alerts
« on: June 26, 2016, 04:28:08 PM »

In the manual page 175
"See Figure 132. The navigation system can provide traffic information when RDS Traffic (TMC) or SiriusXM Traffic is equipped on the vehicle and available in the region. When traffic is enabled, the map shows traffic flow and events along the currently selected route. Refer to Table 29 for traffic icon descriptions."

Is anyone getting the TMC alerts?  Where I live the RDS is broadcasted over the radio waves but am don't get any info on the GPS.

would like to know if anyone is getting this traffic info or is xm the only option.

thanks

You have to have the XM active for it to work. Same as the weather.

I have and use XM all the time.  Yes, I get the traffic alerts.  Some have been helpful but I've yet to navigate around an alert.  In CA we can lane split so an "alert" is not as much of a problem for us.   :coolblue:

You have to have XM activated. I do and recieve the Traffic and weather alerts regularly. I find the traffic works well and unless I am just going to the store I program my destination (verbally mostly) then the traffic alerts are given for the route. I use it on the cars and the bike. Great deal for me.

Not sure why, but the last time I was in the US, I was getting the traffic alerts with no XM subscription. I have never had it prior to that.

Sometimes Sirius XM activates radios with no subscription for a while during a promo event - typically around holidays - as an encouragement to subscribe. Been with a friend who's RT Zumo 665 activated music and weather during such a promo.

Do you just get alerts? or do you get green-yellow-red color tracers along the roads like in google maps and Zumo 665?
