front fork noise
« on: August 01, 2016, 10:15:09 PM »

I ride a 2014 cvo road king purchased new in 2014. I recently just noticed a squishing sound when the front forks are on the rebound or the way back up to full extension. It is very noticeable and I never heard it before, this is not audible when the engine is running. I talked to a mechanic at my dealership and he said it is common with bikes that have cartridge style front forks such as cvos and hd low bikes, and not to worry about it nothing is wrong. I even sat on a electric glide low on the showroom floor and did notice the same sound just not as much as my bike. Does anyone else have this same sound ? I just want to put my mind at ease if this is indeed the case.

I have the same bike and its normal. I noticed that it got a slight bit louder after I hit a major hole during the WV GTG, which compressed both ends fully and vaulted the bike off the ground and me off the seat.

thanks guys for your reply, I will not worry about it. Funny how  I also noticed it after going over some train tracks on a 2 lane road that looked to be in good condition until the last moment when I realized that they were in s****y condition, lesson learned unfamiliar train tracks I now slow down!
