Fluid leaking on bottom of Stock air shock bolt
« on: August 07, 2016, 01:00:07 PM »

Hello all,

Noticed a few drops of fluid on the garage floor, and after some investigation followed the drip up and noticed its on the bottom of the shock bracket.

I don't see it up any higher, there is a boot on the bottom section of the stock air shock.

Is this something I need to have the dealer look at?  Other side is fine.

Just picked the bike up new in Feb of this year.

Cheers!

You need a shock. Raise the boot and look, fluid will be leaking from around the shaft. Happens. No big deal. 10 minute repair.

I wouldn't worry about it, We rode double back from Pensacola (400+ Miles) with a shock that all the fluid leaked out in the motel parking lot. Kind of rough on a couple of large bumps but otherwise O.K. Stopped in @ St Pete HD @ 3:50 on sunday afternoon, they closed @ 4, and they fixed it right then.
So me, I would ride it if I needed to.

Junk!  Do yourself a favor, and get some Progressives, or Ohlins.  Especially if you're an aggressive rider.  Those stock shocks come a Ace of gettin' me hurt, back in the day!  And, if they're leakin', there's no fix.  As I said, pure junk.  Later--HUBBARD
