Boom Box Screen Saver
« on: October 16, 2013, 11:32:58 PM »

Harleys web site page that goes over the new 2014 Boom Box; INFOTAINMENT http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Content/Pages/Owners/infotainment.html?locale=en_US&bmLocale=en_US

I came upon a part that talked about a screen saver for the Boom Box face. I have looked and looked thru parts and cannot find a thing. I am expecting something like the smartphone screen savers.

Am I off base? has anyone found them in parts? if they are available, I guess it would be good to have some on hand.

Thank you
Scott

Boom Box Replaceable Screen Protector
« Reply #1 on: November 01, 2013, 12:17:14 PM »

I noticed in the Boom Box user manual the following;

"Boom! Box 6.5t radios have replaceable screen protector. Remove and replace the protector if it becomes dull, scratched or worn. Damage to screen due to use without a screen protector will not be covered by warranty."

I checked the P/A catalog and could not find any screen protectors. Are they talking about a screen protector similar to the ones available for a smart phone? Does anyone know what they are talking about?

Thank you
Scott :confused5:

As I understand it, the front screen is replaceable and I think the price was just under 60.00. It is not an accessory , but is a replacement part. Can be purchased through the parts department...

Thank you; you would think the MoCo would explain in the Audio System manual that comes with the bike and/or explain on the "infotainment" section online, better yet include the part number. I was thinking of the smart phone or tablet screen protectors, seems like that would have been the way to go, they cost next to nothing and you just pull them off and replace when needed.

Thanks again for the info

Your Welcome Scott.

I found mention of that protector in Boom Box Owners Manual on page 107, and also small mention as well in the Owners manual page 216.

Not a lot of detail at all. Not sure where I saw the cost but I'm sure the Dealer can verify that.

That's how they did it, just like an IPhone. Look in the upper right corner and you can see the screen protector edge. Easy to switch
