2014 SE Limiited front suspension
« on: August 10, 2016, 12:59:31 PM »

I now have 37K on Ole Jezzy. I have changed the rear shocks to progressive 944's and like them. I just returned from a trip to Alaska on the bike and the front suspension is in need of some help. So instead of just doing a service and fluid change I want to upgrade. Who has done any changes and what did you use? Also how do you like the change in the ride?
Thanks in advance.

I was going to go that route BUT I have a friend that has the same bike as mine. He just installed the Progressive 21-4001 front suspension along with a set of Progressive 944's in the rear. He is completely happy with the change. Sooooooo the Progressive front suspension is already ordered. Thanks for the reply and info.

Went with Progressive front and rear on my 2011 Ultra. Monotubes upfront, 944's on the back. Rides pretty well IIRC. Wow, it's been a couple years since I've ridden it with 2013 being the best. Just sucks that I didn't even put it on the road this year. Got to fire it up though and put 1700 miles on my 2015 Road Glide Special. Was wondering if I was even going to be able to do that but used a drug test 800 miles away as an excuse to get out and ride. Could have done the test locally but would have missed out on riding this year. Three weeks a year is never enough time. Got a week in Thailand though and rode something else so not all was lost. Bla bla bla, shut up dude.

Probably OBE for your install, but I bought a set of Legends AXEO front fork cartridges to replace the Progressive Monotubes I had previously installed on my 2008 CVO Ultra. Compared to the Monotubes the AXEO's seem to be a little more lively but soak up the bumps nicely and the front end feels well-planted. The AXEO's have an adjustable pre-load for rider weight. I'm guessing I could stiffen them up more if needed by increasing the pre-load.
