It must just be my luck, but today after ordering the Lower fairing speakers for liquid cooled models (amp, harness, etc.), I went for a couple hour ride. The audio system has been pretty rock solid once the loose ground issue was figured out creating intermittent cut outs (five dealer trips 1.5hrs away). As I am rolling down the road I completely lost the rear saddle bag speakers while the fronts just kept on going. I originally thought I lost an amp. When I rolled into the garage turned off the bike hit the accessory switch and the rear speakers came back on with the exception of the left rear woofer. I have not done any diagnostic work other than just check pins and sockets. All seem to be good. I will do a quick resistance check on the left and right to see if I have a blown speaker, but I would be surprised. Not sure why the rear amp would completely cut out if I just lost a channel on the amp or a speaker is blown. Any thoughts?
Quick update 8-30-16, the left rear woofer is blown. I am not sure why when volume never exceeds 1/2 to 3/4. I guess I will order a new rear set of speakers since Harley does not cover blown speaker under warranty. See if it happens again.
