I'll second that.

It is fun to tinker and come up with fixes on your own (and with help from friends like Don).  Some work, others are learning experiences.  I'm pulling for ya, Pete, that this one is a good fix.

Experienced the same leak on my 2011.  Mine was leaking a bit less and just barely noticeable on outer case.  HD Service Manager suggested it was not enough to worry about primary getting low and not to replace stator.  After living with it several months I did basically same as OP except with black high heat RTV.  The engine case on that bike was black so blended in pretty well and slowed the leak quite a bit.

I'VE been checking it each time I get back from being out. I give it a wipe under the dust boot with my finger and so far all is dry  :drink:
